Let us help you understand your pain and injury

The Foot and Leg Clinic’s MSK Foot and Ankle Biomechanical Assessment includes:

  • a static stance assessment to analyse how the foot, knee, hip, spine and head are positioned in relation to each other
  • various clinical static assessment
  • computerized foot pressure mapping
  • non-weight-bearing assessment to analyse the foot and ankle joint and muscle function
  • video gait analysis (time permitting)

Patients come along to see us at the clinic for a Foot and Ankle Assessment when suffering from aches, pains or injuries of the foot, ankle or lower leg.  The foot is made of 26 bones, many ligaments, cartilage and tendons.  So there’s lots to think about.  We carry out assessment of the range of motion of the various joints of the foot and ankle, assess tendon function and highlight restrictions and over stressed tissue.  We expect you will leave your assessment appointment with an understanding of how the foot and ankle work, why you are suffering injury and with a clear understanding of your diagnosis, what has causes the injury in terms of you alignment and understand your treatment plan.

When required your clinician will work with your GP to organise referral for further investigations.
