In-house Orthotics Workshop

We are in complete control of the foot orthotics we produce and are proud of the product we create

Based in Glasgow, near George Cross

We manufacture all of our custom Foot Orthotics

Having our very own workshop offers a significant advantage to the quality of orthosis produced and allows us to guarantee our patients a super speedy and accurate service. We are very proud of the orthotics we produce and would like to share this with you.

If Orthotics are required they are casted and prescribed at your Biomechanical Assessment.  An appointment is then arranged for you to return to clinic for the fit and supply of your foot orthotics just 1 week later.

At The Foot and Leg Clinic we prescribe, supply and fit custom foot orthotics from a cast taken of your foot. We use this cast to manufacture each orthotic, individually by hand, at our own in-house workshop.

The foot orthotics we supply are manufactured from carbon fibre meaning that we provide this low-profile device to you with a long guarantee of durability. We encourage patients to simply refurbish their orthotics without the need to purchase a new pair every year as usually recommended.

The feedback received regarding our Foot Orthotics has been positively overwhelming and this makes us proud as we fought hard to stay true to our values by manufacturing our orthotics properly, meaning your orthotics are ethically produced.  We manufacture our own orthotics onsite simply because we don’t trust other companies to produce genuine custom made orthotics to the cast taken of the patients foot. The process of genuine manufacture of foot orthotics is messy, lengthy and costly however we prefer this ethical approach to ensure our patients are walking around wearing foot orthotics genuinely made to the cast taken of the their feet, and with the desired degrees of correction as opposed to a modular, make shift device which produces very little change in biomechanics.

For years our technicians have been hand making all of our foot orthotics from carbon fibre.  This carbon fibre material is long lasting meaning you don’t need to replace your orthotics every year, simply hand them back into the clinic and we replace the top covers instead.

Although we love and our proud of our foot orthotics and the positive affect they have on treating injuries, we are currently working on designing our own software for manufacturing 3D printed orthotics.  With time comes change and we need to keep up too, however with regards to orthotics, 3D printing is fairly new and as such via our research we have yet to find software presently available around the UK and Europe which meets our standards.  Therefore we are not willing to supply our patients with the 3D scanned insoles currently offered around the UK.   It’s the future though and science is almost there with regards to 3D printed orthotics…
