Physiotherapy is working with patients to restore muscle balance around the various joints of the body in-order to reduce pain and reduce the risk of injury.

Physiotherapy is an essential component to a healthy body for those who exercise, suffer discomfort or are just keen to ensure their joints and muscles are healthy.

Our physiotherapists will carry out an assessment of various joints of your body, including the area of injury, diagnose injury and create a rehabilitation plan.  The physiotherapists are trained in taping, needling, manual therapist and other techniques. Following the physiotherapy assessment the physiotherapist will create your rehabilitation program which you will be able to follow online at home.

Our physios use a range of techniques and approaches.

This includes manual therapy methods such as massage and manipulation. We also develop exercise programmes, which are tailored to help with your particular health problem.

Following the physio assessment, the physio will devise a treatment plan for you which usually includes some manual therapy in addition to stretch and strengthening exercises.

Usually an exercise programme will be written for you and emailed electronically, allowing you to save and access your exercise programme at a much later date if any niggles flare up again.

We treat many types of sports injuries and collaboratively work with professionals and amateurs to ensure that we are doing our best to alleviate and manage related pain, mobility and restore physical functionality. The foot and leg clinic have been treating professional athletes for 10 years and are experts in their subjects.

Our treatment plan ensures your road to recovery culminates in a safe transition to optimum physical functioning in your activity as quickly as possible.

We work with ALL injuries of the body, sport and non-sport related, and treat everything from foot, leg, knee, hip and back pain. Our physiotherapists work with children and adolescents, often along side the biomechanics service at the clinic.

Back problems can be the result of muscle, ligament and disc injury. Low back pain is a common and sometimes recurrent experience for many. Physiotherapy can help to speed the healing and recovery process whether it is an acute or chronic problem.

It is helpful and important to promptly seek advice when back pain has become a concern and is not settling, as ignoring it can make matters worse.

Getting the right physiotherapy treatment and advice for your particular complaint can prove invaluable since having an accurate diagnosis and instructions for the right exercises can make a real difference.

The legs and knees are prone to injury due to repetitive force and weight-bearing movements required in walking, running, jumping and twisting.

Our physiotherapist treats a wide variety of issues affecting the legs and knees and will provide treatment specifically tailored to your injury.

Neck and shoulder pain can cause debilitating discomfort: symptoms can include headaches, pins and needles, numbness and reduced range of movement

The causes of neck and shoulder pain can be wide and varied, e.g. whiplash, postural problems, nerve impingement, muscle, tendon and ligament strains.

Shoulder pain can be the result of what is known as referred pain and in some cases can come from the neck or bicep.

Our Physiotherapist will assess where your pain is coming from and dependent on the cause and severity will tailor treatments and exercises to maximise your recovery and mobility functions.

Foot injuries at The Foot and Leg Clinic are most often treated by the foot and ankle specialist with the Biomechanics Service within the clinic. However often the physio’s work with the biomechanics clinicians in treating foot injuries when the foot injury is connected to mis-alignment at the knee or hip.

Get in touch and we can explain how we can help you. You may only have been suffering pain over the past few days or perhaps years. Or maybe you don’t have any pain but are keen on a biomechanical assessment, physio MOT or some remedial massage therapy, to avoid future joint or muscle damage.
