Medical Assessment and Diagnostic Ultrasound

We work closely with specialist surgeons to enhance patient care

Based in Glasgow, near George Cross

Dr Eyvindsson performs medical diagnostic ultrasound assessments at the clinic.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a painless and harmless way to obtain pictures of structures in the body, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments. It uses high frequency sound waves to generate a live picture of these structures on a screen.

We are keen to get to the bottom of what the injury is and what caused it.  Dr Eyvindsson is our resident sports and A&E doctor who performs our ultrasound diagnosis assessments.  He brings a wealth of experience to Medial Diagnostic Ultrasound.

The medical ultrasound assessment is performed by our experienced Sport and A&E doctor.  Dr Eyvindsson is experienced working with professional athletes and also works helping elderly, sedentary, or the notice athlete.  He works within the clinic to provide medical assessments, including ultrasound diagnosis, of a range of MSK injuries from head to toe. Were that be a shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee of foot strain, Dr Eyvindsson will assess, diagnose and devise a treatment plan.  This often would be injection therapy of which he provides a range of options from steroid and hyaluronic acid, combinations of steroid and hyaluronic acid, and arthrosamid.

Diagnostic Ultrasound can be highly affective in providing a better rehab plan for patients once a clear diagnosis is confirmed.  Dr Eyvindsson will then work closely with the team of physiotherapists, sports therapists, podiatrist and orthotist to develop a clear rehab program.

Why we believe a close working relationship within a multidisciplinary team is important

We work closely as a clinical team comprising of MSK Doctor, Biomechanical Specialist, Podiatrist, Orthotist, Physiotherapists, and Sports and Massage Therapist.  All hugely experienced and well regarded in their field, working together to develop good treatment plans for their patients.  We also work alongside Orthopaedic Surgeons and Radiologists for those patients that require surgery or rehabilitation post surgery.

Medical diagnostic ultrasound can be an excellent tool for diagnosing of a range of bone, joint, tendon, muscle and ligament injuries of the entire body.

Common examples of injuries highlighted by ultrasound;

  • Shin splints
