How our physiotherapists and team of  specialists can help you

The Body Foot and Leg Clinic have been treating athletes across Scotland and the UK since 2009 from our specialist clinic in Glasgow.

Our multidisciplinary team of qualified professionals work closely to diagnose and treat a broad range of sporting injuries, and our patients include everyone from top athletes to aspiring amateurs of all ages. We approach every case from a holistic point of view, taking the time to fully understand the nature of your injury and work collaboratively with our team of specialists to provide the right treatment for your specific situation.

Don’t worry if you are unsure which service or appointment to book – our team are highly trained to ensure you are referred to the correct service within the clinic.

Our approach is to carefully assess and diagnose each injury before recommending the appropriate treatment, which may include physiotherapy, massage therapy, custom orthotics or a range of other clinical services that often our patients may not have considered as a more effective solution to their injury. Where necessary, we will refer cases that require surgery to one of many excellent surgeons we regularly work with, who will then refer you back to us assist you with post-surgery rehabilitation.

It can often be the case that the cause of your pain is much more simple than you may have realised. We regularly diagnose and treat patients who have attended numerous specialists within the NHS and private sector without a successful diagnosis. This is where the breadth of our team’s experience really shines. We can perform a biomechanical assessment which gives us a holistic view of your allignment and paints a clear picture why certain joints or muscles may be the source of your discomfort. This is much more than simply assessing posture. With over 20 year’s experience in biomechanics and equipped with the latest technology, our team’s problem solving expertise can much more effectively interpret your assessment’s results and pinpoint the source of your pain. From here, we will work with you to explain the impact your foot positioning has on, for example, your knee, hips, spine, shoulders and head positioning, and the muscles that surround them.

We will then recommend a treatment to help realign and strengthen your body in order to restore your natural muscle pattern and reduce the pressures you may be experiencing. In many cases, physiotherapy is enough to resolve the issue, but we can also look at custom orthotics, Kintetic Chain Release (KCR) or foot mobilisation techniques.
