Kinetic Chain Release Can Reduce Long Term Pain
What is KCR?
Kinetic Chain Release is full body realignment that has a 23 step protocol of gentle stretches and mobilisations. It can help those suffering from different chronic and acute aches/pains, shortens injury and recovery time, and realigns and rebalances the body. Kinetic Chain Release can help with a number of chronic pain conditions and musculoskeletal issues, as well as provide relief and encourage recovery. Below are just a few examples of what KCR as a treatment can help with.
- Back Pain
- Neck Pain
- Knee Problems
- Fibromyalgia
- Sports Injuries
- Injury Rehabilitation
- Postural Alignment and Mobility
- Tendonitis
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Scoliosis
Who can KCR help?
Everyone can benefit from KCR, from professional athletes, older adults, children, and everyone in-between! For Athletes, KCR has a number of benefits. Misalignment increases the risk of injury during sport, so KCR is often recommended to realign the body in order to reduce risk of injury, enhance the range of motion and muscular balance, as well as boost performance.
For those with muscular issues and chronic pain, often pain can occur due to misalignment within the kinetic chain as other parts of the body compensate. KCR works to correct this, helping to relieve pain and tension.
JD Peacock, our KCR specialist and Sports Therapist, works in tandem with other clinicians within The Body, Foot and Leg Clinic, to offer a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Often patients are referred for KCR treatment after an Initial Physiotherapy or Biomechanical Assessment.
What happens during the appointment?
An initial KCR appointment is approximately an hour long, and our KCR specialist JD will fully assess your alignment. During this appointment, he can give you an idea of how many sessions you may require and what needs to be realigned. For KCR treatment, you are fully clothed, and we often recommend patients to wear something they are comfortable and can move in in such as shorts and leggings. There will be gentle mobilisation of the joints, alongside deep stretches and muscle releases to put your body back into balance.
